Peel Park which is green parkland is at the heart of the riverside campus of the University of Salford.

Browns were appointed by the University of Salford to construct new student union facilities and leisure facilities including a swimming pool on the Peel Park Campus.

The new facilities constructed by Browns provided state of the art student union administration facilities in addition to a leisure complex including a swimming pool and changing facilities.

Construction Challenges:

Throughout the construction programme the University was fully operational and the site was occupied with students. In addition to this the site for the construction was extremely restricted and in close proximity to surrounding buildings. Therefore all construction activities had to be carefully planned to ensure that no disruption to teaching and studying was caused. The project team worked closely with University staff to ensure that at all times the welfare of staff, students and local community were considered, and that the project progress and activities were communicated.
