Browns were appointed by Arrow Left Limited to construct new student accommodation, comprising of 36 clusters providing 172 beds.
The project involved the construction of 2 blocks of student accommodation both of 8 storey’s in addition to a serviced aparthotel block.
This design and build project was delivered on time and within budget, with some cost savings identified via value engineering exercises undertaken by the team from Browns and the clients team.
Construction Challenges:
The site for construction was located on a triangular strip of land in the middle of two main arterial roads into Leeds City Centre. The footprint of the building filled the site boundary making it a very tight site to work with. Due to the tight nature of the site and also the location of the site on 2 busy main roads the team from Browns had to plan carefully logistics and deliveries to the site and also use construction techniques that retained the construction activities within the site boundaries
