Browns is one of the oldest construction companies in the UK.
Browns was established by Levi Brown in 1860 and has been involved in the construction and restoration of landmark buildings in the North since that time. For the next 100 years plus, L Browns and Sons as it was known was described as being a ‘Master Builder’ with a reputation for quality construction. Over this period the business delivered an impressive array of projects including schools, churches, offices, banks, leisure facilities, prestigious homes and listed building restorations for Manchester Cathedral and Tatton Park to name but a few.
In 1985 Browns was acquired by the Headcrown Group, one of the largest independent construction groups in the country.
Today from new self built headquarters at Cheadle Royal Business Park, Browns continues to build on its solid reputation for quality and reliability.
Working for a wide range of long-established public, private and voluntary sector clients and in conjunction with some of the region’s leading design and cost consultants, Browns maintains its proud heritage by constantly looking forward.
It’s unique on-site management systems are supported by the latest technological innovations in communications, training and modern methods of construction, enabling Browns to deliver quality construction projects with maximum efficiencies.
