Management Team

The management team at Browns have collectively over 100 years experience in the Construction Industry’. Browns operate a flat management structure which encourages co-operation and co-ordination of all departments enabling a smooth operational performance throughout the company and in particular on our construction sites. Not only that but Browns has implemented this structure to ensure that the Directors are at all times accessible by our clients and supply chain partners.

Bill commenced with Browns as a Senior Quantity Surveyor in January 1985 having previously pursued a career as a Chartered Quantity Surveyor in private practice with Edmond Shipway and Partners.

Promotion to the position of Chief Quantity Surveyor and an appointment to the Board of Directors as Surveying Director followed in successive years, which was subsequently followed by an appointment as Commercial Director in 1989 where he became responsible for all the Company's commercial activities.

In 1997 Bill was appointed Managing Director having successfully completed an MBA 2 years earlier. Bill has overseen a transitional period within the Construction Industry and its associated markets and is responsible for the current focus and direction of the Company to reflect the ever changing Construction Sector requirements.

Nigel, who attained his professional qualification in 1982, has also been at Browns for over 23 years commencing employment as the Company Accountant in 1986 followed by a swift promotion to Company Secretary in 1987.

Nigel, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants for the last 20 years, has overseen many challenges and changes within the company including a number of Operational Rationalisations, Head Office relocations and a Financial Restructuring which sees Browns well equipped to benefit from the opportunities which are presented in the current markets.

Cliff is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Building with over 40 years experience in the Construction Industry including over 30 years in a management capacity being responsible for a wide variety of projects including high rise housing, student accommodation, offices, hotels, leisure centres to name but a few both in the UK and abroad.

Cliff has been with Browns for 5 years and has been responsible for transforming the operation of the company's construction department and for the introduction of new management systems whilst spearheading the company's efforts to successfully acquire a number of quality accreditations which are necessary in today's competitive market place.
