147 Years Of Expertise Delivers £13m Project On Budget And To The Agreed Programme
Cheshire based Browns Construction Group Ltd has drawn on 147 years of expertise to deliver a £13 million regeneration project in Leeds City Centre on budget and to programme.
The mixed use development provides luxury student accommodation and retail units within a landscaped setting and was commissioned by Park Lane Properties Ltd, widely acknowledged as the area’s leading provider of high quality student housing.
The development, called Park Lane Triangle, consists of three impressive multi-storey towers and also offers sub basement parking for residents.
The project was complex and posed many challenges but extensive experience enabled Browns to complete construction and settle accounts prior to handover in just 80 weeks.
The site was formerly a derelict petrol station so before construction could commence, Browns had to undertake full ground remediation works. The build programme also had to take into consideration the development’s location on busy Burley Road with allowances made to prevent obstructing passing traffic and to safeguard site workers.
To ensure all works kept to schedule, Browns employed a site-based Senior Project Manager who oversaw the day-to-day work on the development and handled issues as they arose. He also enabled Browns to offer a greater degree of flexibility to the project when planning issues threatened progress.
Park Lane Triangle is one of 2 multi-million pound, high density, city centre developments completed by Browns Construction Group in the last 18 months. The company, established in 1860 and thought to be one of the oldest construction companies in the UK, has just relocated to larger offices at Cheadle Royal, near Stockport, providing space for expansion and easy access to the M60/M62 corridor and its many clients.
