The task of delivering a landmark multimillion pound regeneration project in one of Manchester’s most neglected neighbourhoods has been successfully managed by Browns Construction Group Ltd.
Hundreds of Manchester’s key workers, including Nurses and Junior Doctors, will have the opportunity to get a foot on the housing ladder following the completion of a new £23 million residential complex built by Browns Construction Group Ltd.
Plymouth Grove is a landmark building of striking architectural merit that stands between six and thirteen storeys high and houses 116 Key worker 2 bedroom apartments and 72, 5, 6 and 7 bedroom student apartments and is located on thejunction of Upper Brook Street and Plymouth Grove a major gateway into Manchester city centre.
The site of Plymouth Grove was previously a Happy Eater restaurant. It took Browns Construction Group Ltd just 92 weeks to transform the site, despite the development’s difficult location, situated on a busy island on a major route into the city centre.
A further challenge facing the 147 year old company was the construction of a natural airflow system into the building’s 125 space basement car parking area. Designers and planners desired that the Plymouth Grove building have the smallest carbon footprint. To meet this challenge, Browns Construction Group Ltd maximised the energy efficiency of the building by constructing the natural airflow system as opposed to installing powered extraction systems.
Browns Construction Group Ltd has over 147 years of experience of creating high profile and high capacity buildings in Manchester City Centre. For more information contact www.brownsconstructiongroup.co.uk
